I guess I'm pretty much at the end of Overlord II. I'm not actually done with it... I'm going to have to play through it at least once to see some of the stuff I missed... But I'm on the final boss now.

I'm a little surprised - the first Overlord game seemed a lot longer than this. There were only two towns to capture... Only four different environments to play through... The first Overlord game had more than that.

well, maybe there'll be some updates or expansions to look forward to...

Anyway, I'm on the last boss now, and he's a study in annoyance. I'm not going to give away any plot details or anything like that, but you wind up fighting some kind of giant magical slug monster thing.

You have to use blue minions to clean up his magical goo, so that when you send in your other minions to attack they don't get mutated.

You pretty much can't use your browns at all, because they can't reach the slug's weak spots.

So you have to rely on your greens and reds to actually do damage to him - and they're a little too fragile for my tastes. Far too easy to get them killed.

And while you're trying to kill this slug monster you're constantly getting attacked by other monsters. He spits out unicorns and soldiers and other random monsters periodically, and you have to deal with them just to get to the slug critter.

I worked on this boss monster for a good 30 minutes before giving up... I just couldn't keep up with all the monsters being spawned. Kept churning through my minions... Had to keep summoning up new ones. And it was incredibly frustrating.

I think I'm going to have to go looking for more horde-size upgrades... Maybe pay to improve some of my minions a few levels...
